Nordic Katas

Handmade Nordic Katas
in the birch woodlands

SLEEPS 6 | 2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY | FROM £135 A NIGHT

Our unique handmade kata tents are the ultimate wild camping experience without the hardship. Go to sleep to the sound of the deer and owls outside, or the rustling of leaves. All the katas are hand-crafted by Croft staff and have toilet outhouses and covered outdoor kitchens so you can keep cosy in all weather using the wood-burning stove in the centre of the tent.

Six of the seven katas are set in open birch woodland just 1-2 minutes walk from the facilities. Kata 5 is located next to the Low Meadow with its own private boardwalk and car parking space (blue badge holders only).  It's the nearest to the campsite facilities, perfect for families and is wheelchair accessible.

Love where you stay

We take great care to minimise any impacts on the environment: the lower shower block lighting runs from wind and solar power, while the upper block - the one with a turf roof - is completely off-grid. We are a bit obsessed with reusing and recycling. Please do your bit by separating your recyclables (nearly everything!) rather than dumping bags of mixed materials in the general waste bin. Remember - it only becomes waste if we don't separate and recycle it!
