Scotland's Iconic Trails
Ride on The Badger Divide, Great Glen Way & West Highland Way.
This trip will show you Scotland in all its rugged glory. You’ll ride iconic trails, including The Badger Divide, Great Glen Way, and West Highland Way. If you’ve heard of the epic Highland Trail 550, this adventure follows its Southern loop.
You will pedal through spectacular glens, past shimmering lochs, and beneath towering Munros (Scottish mountains over 3,000ft/914m). The scenery is breathtaking throughout. You will rest and recuperate in bothies and hostels, cook dinner on our camp stoves, and embrace the challenge and beauty of the wild Scottish landscape.

The majority of this route is on gravel tracks and trails, but there are also sections of loose terrain, single-track, and technical ascents and descents. Expect plenty of water bars—don’t worry if you can’t ride them at first, you will by the end! There will also be some inevitable hike-a-bike sections and a taste of classic Scottish bog.
-
This trip is not for beginners. You **MUST** have some previous bikepacking experience and be comfortable riding your bike for 7-8 hours a day over four consecutive days on challenging terrain. You should be confident on red-graded trails.
That said, you don’t need to be an expert! You can walk the more technical sections without adding too much time.

Fitness Level 5
Skill Level 4
Terrain Levels 1-5 (level 5 can be walked)
We know this sort of explanation and the reference to very technical riding, expert fitness and high level of technical skill can be daunting to many people. These numbers are provided to provide a realistic overview of the technicality of the terrain. Remember technical sections can always be walked.
If you are up for an adventure, and keen for big days on the bike, this trip is for you.
Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss your suitability for the trip further. Emily is happy to chat (fair warning: she’s great at persuading people this trip is for them!).

Scotland’s ever-changing weather is part of the adventure. Be prepared for anything, from glorious sunshine to wind and rain. The key is preparation and a good sense of humour! No matter what the weather throws at you, there will always be a warm sleeping bag or a cosy bed waiting at the end of the day.
*In the event of extreme weather where safety is a concern, the trip will be cancelled and alternative dates offered.*
