Cycle Scotland’s Khyber Pass
Scotland's ultimate family bike ride
5 miles all downhill on a traffic-free old railway path through dramatic Glen Ogle. Queen Victoria dubbed it 'Scotland's Khyber Pass'. Finish in Lochearnhead or take the 2.5 mile extension (each way – almost flat and also traffic free) to Mhor 84, one of the best family-friendly places to eat for many a mile. Then return to Lochearnhead to finish by the loch. Use the hop-on, hop-off Ring of Breadalbane Explorer bus to get you to the start and home from the finish. Depending on your pace (or kids!) the ride usually takes 1-3 hours including breaks and the possible extension to Mhor 84.
Tickets for the bus
See reception for timetables. Adult tickets are standard bus fares. Kids 6 - 15 travel half price, 5's and under are free, Bikes: free (subject to space).
Advance reservation of bike space is recommended (but not essential - so far the bus has never run out of bike space!) For journeys leaving Comrie Croft call Sweeney's of Muthill 01764 681231, journeys leaving Lochearnhead call Kingshouse Travel 01877 384768.
