Rain may dampen the person, but never the spirit....

The good old Scottish weather is at it again..it’s raining!  What are you going to do for the day?  Here are a few local suggestions.

Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, Comrie.

Located just a few miles away, Auchingarrich has fun for all the family.  With covered walk ways and play barns you can visit whatever the weather.   Visitors can experience everything from holding a little chick to milking a cow to having a coffee while taking in the breath taking views of the Ochils.

Famous Grouse, Crieff.

Situated at the bottom of Glen Turret, the Famous Grouse Experience is Scotland’s oldest working distillery dating back to 1775.  The distillery offers a range of tours and tastings experiences, these are not suitable for younger kids and aimed more at adults.  After working up an appetite on the tours you can relax in the restaurant run by the award-winning Wild Thyme.  They offer a delicious range of dishes including a very scrumptious afternoon tea.

Ceramic Experience, Crieff.

Whatever your age or artistic ability the Ceramic Experience is a lovely way to spend some time.  You can choose from a range of items to paint, some can be taken away the same day; others will need fired in the kiln.  Whatever you choose the lovely staff are always on hand to offer help, advice and encouragement to those who need it.  The onsite cafe offers a good range of snacks and drinks and there is a soft play area for those needing to use up some energy.

Strathearn Community Campus.

Looking for the local swimming pool?  You’ll find it here; they also have squash courts, a gym & a dance studio.  There is a small cafe and the local library on the same site.  It’s attached to the high school so best checking availability on their website before visiting.
