Mysterious Blogger

Who is this mysterious new Comrie Croft blogger I hear you ask?  Well if you live in Comrie or Crieff you probably already know, but just in case you don’t my name is Amanda and I am the newest member of the Croft family.

Head Crofter Andrew said I should tell you a bit about me, but I don’t really know what to say. I’ve come to Comrie Croft after working for a bank for 10 years; I turned 30 and decided I needed a job with a bit more excitement and surprise.  So when I saw there was a vacancy at Comrie Croft for a Creative Marketing Officer I jumped at the chance.

I’ve been told you have to be a little crazy to work here, so I should fit in pretty well.  In my spare time I love to horse ride, go for walks, play the snare drum for Comrie Pipe Band, box & volunteer with the local Brownies & Guides.  Nothing too crazy there I hear you say, but I do all that from my wheelchair.

I was born with Muscular Dystrophy (a muscle wasting condition), I use crutches and an electric wheelchair to get about.  My parents brought up to be just like everyone else, I’m pretty headstrong so you’d have a tough time stopping me.  I like to defy conventionality and give things a go, especially if people say I won’t be able to do it!  Over the years I’ve cantered on a mustang horse through the Arizona desert, been a dolphin trainer in Las Vegas, played my snare drum on Blue Peter (yes I did get a badge), driven an articulated lorry & fire engine and most recently driven my wheelchair round the Victoria Memorial in London on the road at midnight with the taxi’s!

So now you know a little bit about me, feel free to come and see me when you next visit or send me some feedback on my blogs and updates.
