Walking

If you have a map and don't mind doing a bit of cross-country then do come on foot, but please respect our neighbour's property and privacy. Approaching from the north is a wild and roadless mountain area until you reach Loch Tay. Click here for some great walks to do once you are here.

Cycling

All but the final approach to the Croft can be completed on quiet back roads. Comrie Croft Bikes has bike hire, a small bike shop, bike wash, lockable shed, dedicated mtb trails, trail maps and friendly advice!


Car

By car we are just over an hour's drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh. From Crieff we are 4.5 miles along the A85 (follow signs for Crianlarich). From Comrie we are 2 miles along the A85 towards Crieff. The Croft is clearly signposted from the main road. Driving times & distances.

Car hire

The most local car hire is Ford rental from Crieff Garage, from £25/day. Call 01764 652273.


Buses and coaches

The Croft has surprisingly good public transport for a rural place in the hills. Hourly buses run in each direction to Comrie, Crieff, Perth and connecting to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, etc.

 

  1. Stagecoach route 15. Perth-Crieff-Comrie Croft-Comrie-St Fillans(Loch Earn). 17 times a day, reduced service on Saturdays and Sundays. Timetable

  2. Citylink route 973. Dundee-Perth-Crieff-Comrie Croft-Comrie-St Fillans(Loch Earn)-Lochearnhead-Killin-Crianlarich-Tyndrum-Oban. 2 per day. This is a long distance express service enabling connections to Fort William, Skye, the islands, etc. May - Oct only. Timetable

Trains

Our nearest train stations are Dunblane or Stirling to the South, Perth to the East and Crianlarich to the West. Perth has a direct bus connection to the Croft, so is the one we normally recommend. There is an overnight sleeper train to and from London costing as little as £19.
