Top 5 walks:1. Comrie Croft trails. Cracking views of Strathearn as you walk up through woodland and rough pasture into a regenerating birch forest. 0.5 - 1.5 hrs. Mostly landrover track. Picture above. From our door. 2. Deil's Cauldron, Comrie. The River Lednock cascades out from a rocky gorge in the atmospheric tree-clad amphitheatre known as the Deil's Cauldron. Fee's favourite. This excellent circular walk from the village visits the Cauldron as well as having an optional ascent to the Melville Monument, a fine viewpoint of the southern highlands. Detailed route description and pictures. 3. Lady Mary's Walk, Laggan Hill and Glenturret Distillery, Crieff. This walk has everything from riverside strolling to a beautiful Victorian park with magnificent trees. Andrew's favourite. In total it would take you two and a bit hours. Or just do one loop for a pleasant hour. Detailed route description and pictures. 4. Torlum Hill. Look out from the Croft and this is what you see. A fine wee hill (1289 ft), easily climbed in an hour or so. 360 degree views from east to west coast. Can be extended to Crieff along a Highland boundary fault line. George's favourite. 5. Maam Road. An old drover's road, now a a fine walk through a rugged Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the other side of Comrie. Colin's favourite, though he does it more often on a bike. 1 - 2 hrs.
