eco camping

We love wild camping in Scotland, so when we set up our campsite this was our idea: beautiful, accessible wild camping with decent facilities and hot showers. So you get to enjoy a campfire (marshmallows and sausages for sale in the shop!) a view of the hills or birch woods but without rows of caravans, and with a bit more space and privacy. We're also taking great care to minimise any impacts on the environment: the shower block lighting runs from wind and solar power and we have an obsession with reusing and recycling. Please, if you can, either recycle your waste or take it home with you at the end of your stay (thanks!).

George is the camping man at Comrie Croft and is only too happy to help if you need any assistance. We are a family friendly campsite, so for the consideration of others we ask everyone to be quiet after 11pm.

field or woodland pitch?

  • 12 spacious field pitches with a view of the hills. Best for those who prefer to be close to car & facilities. Please note that cars cannot be driven onto the camping field itself - the nearest car parking is about 50 metres away. Tents bigger than a standard 4-person tent need to go here.
  • 13 pitches in birchwood glades. Best for those who prefer the most natural setting and don't mind a minute or two walk to the car & facilities. The pitches are physically restricted by the lay of the land to smaller tents (normally up to a standard 4-person tent).

You can choose your pitch and see the lay of the land on the map here.

For summer 2010 we are putting in some nice unsmelly compost toilets (we already have hot showers and normal loos down next to the camping field). These will also enable the opening of a new elevated field camping area which you won't need to book for as it has acres of space. And being a bit higher up, it's got a very nice view too!
